Sika® Antisol® E

Concrete curing compound

Sika® Antisol® E is an emulsified paraffin based curing compound. It is ready to use and easy to apply. Sika® Antisol® E will form a thin film covering the surface of the concrete to prevent premature water loss due to evaporation.
Sika® Antisol® E complies with ASTM C 309 type 1 Class A.

Sika® Antisol® E provides the following beneficial properties to concrete surfaces:
  • Reducing incidence of plastic cracking
  • Enabling achievement of designed strength
  • Minimizing shrinkage
  • Reducing dusting
  • Increasing frost resistance
  • Alleviating other costly methods such as hessian-watering, etc.

Usage

Sika® Antisol® E is used mainly for structural concrete surfaces where subsequent surface treatments will not be required, for example, free-face concrete.
Sika® Antisol® E is sprayed onto newly laid concrete surfaces to form a thin film barrier against premature water loss. Without disturbance to the normal setting action, the concrete is then allowed to cure and achieve maximum properties.   Sika® Antisol® E is especially suitable for trafficable surfaces and in large areas of exposed concrete, such as:
  • Highways
  • Runways and taxi ways
  • Aprons and hardstandings
  • Roof decks
  • Retaining walls
  • Pre-stressed beams and piers
  • Precast elements

Application steps

APPLICATION

Sika® Antisol® E curing membrane can be spray applied on to newly laid concrete once the surface water has evaporated (between 30 min. to 2 hours depending on temperature). A thin film of Sika® Antisol® E is applied to the whole surface using a hand operated spray gun or using low pressure machine spray gun. For “stiff” or “no-slump” concrete mix, apply Sika® Antisol® E as soon as possible after final finishing work has been completed.
Stir well before use.
After application the area concerned must be protected from rain for at least 2 -3 hours.
